The initial color temperature setting can change when a plasma display panel (PDP) is driven for a long period of time. One cause is due to the non-uniform deterioration of red, green, and blue fluorescent materials due to the ultraviolet rays discharged during operation of the panel. Color temperature correction is performed by setting the numbers of discharge pulses for fluorescent materials in accordance with a discharge pulse number correction curve with respect to the cumulative elapsed driven time of the PDP.

 The present invention relates to an apparatus for removing the load effect, and more particularly, to an apparatus for removing the load effect through addition or subtraction of the number of sustain pulses. The present invention includes an APL calculation unit for calculating an APL value by using gray scale information corresponding to an inputted frame, a pulse number calculation unit for determining the number of reference sustain pulses, which will be used in a current sub-field, based on the APL value from the APL calculation unit, a load calculation unit for calculating the ratio of cells that are selected to emit light based on the gray scale information, so as to calculate a load value in the current sub-field, and a compensation pulse number calculation unit for comparing a predetermined reference load with the load value outputted from the load calculation unit, controlling the number of the reference sustain pulses based on the comparison result, and then outputting the number of compensated sustain pulses. As such, the number of the sustain pulses is added or subtracted based on the comparison result between the load value of the current sub-field and the reference load. The present invention is advantageous in that it can save power consumption and reduce a screen flickering phenomenon.

 A liquid crystal display (LCD) device and a method of driving the same applies dummy pixel signals each representing a substantially identical brightness level during a blanking period, wherein the horizontal stripe phenomenon is substantially prevented from being generated due to differences in capacitive coupling between liquid crystal cells and adjacent data line.

 A bidirectional shift register includes multi-stages of shift register unit circuits that transmit a start pulse in a direction indicated by a logical level of a transmission direction control signal. Each of the shift register unit circuits has a first transfer gate that transmits the start pulse in synchronization with one of a clock signal and an inverted clock signal, which is obtained by inverting the clock signal, a second transfer gate that transmits the start pulse in synchronization with the other signal of the clock signal and the inverted clock signal, a first logical circuit that inverts an input signal and outputs the inverted signal, and first and second clocked inverters that are exclusively valid according to the logical level of the transmission direction control signal. An output terminal of the first logical circuit is connected to input terminals of the first and second clocked inverters, and output terminals of the first and second clocked inverters are connected to an input terminal of the first logical circuit through the first and second transfer gates.

 A system and method for staggered actuation of columns of interferometric modulators. In one embodiment, the method determines data for actuating two or more groups of columns in the array, each group having one or more columns, and provides the data to the array to actuate two or more group of columns so that each group is activated during a group addressing period. In another embodiment, a display includes at least one driving circuit and an array comprising a plurality of interferometric modulators disposed in a plurality of columns and rows, said array being configured to be driven by said driving circuit which is configured to stagger the actuation of the plurality of columns during an array addressing period.

 A display device including a timing control circuit, a programmable voltage generator, a gate driver, a source driver circuit and a display panel is provided. The display panel includes a plurality of redundancy pixel cells and display pixel cells. The redundancy pixel cells and display pixel cells may include a?Si TFT and organic light emitting diode. The redundancy pixel cells and display pixel cells may be turned on by the gate driver circuit, and the working current of each display pixel cell may be compared with that of the corresponding redundancy pixel cell.  To provide a map generation device according to the present invention which extracts a polygon shape of a building having a complex upper portion structure from a wide area image. The map generation device includes an image appointment unit that receives appointment of at least one position in a building existing within an aerial photograph, a polygon extraction unit that extracts a building region based on a result of discriminating a color around the appointed position and extracts a polygon line of the building region, and a vector generation unit that generates a vector of the polygon line of the building region.

 A method for animating soft body characters has a preparation phase followed by an animation phase. In the preparation phase, the skin deformation of the character model is determined for a set of basis poses. The skin deformation from posing is compactly represented in terms of the set of basis poses. In the animation phase, the set of basis poses and the skin mode response are used to create a final posed character. A desired character pose is projected onto the basis set to determine a set of basis weights. The basis weights are applied to the set of skin responses to create a skin pose response, and the skin pose responses is projected onto the basis set to create the posed character model.
